A short, simple impromptu recital based on some of elementary learnings of the Uday Shankar technique of New Dance, under the tutelage of my guru Smt. Tanusree Shankar. Set to music by another legendary genius, Pandit Ravi Shankar, this is my humble tribute to one of the doyens of the Gharana, Smt. Amala Shankar.

Our first month into the lockdown and my humble offering on the occasion of the World Dance Day. The dance depicts the changing times and how hope and positivity have been a constant in this survival story of mankind and its unending fight with the unseen enemy.

This dance is based on the Shankar technique of New Dance and its composition is inspired from tagore’ s song “mallika bone”.

A coming together of four different dance styles namely kathak, creative, contemporary and flamenco, celebrating one world through a common rhythm in dance.

Choreographed exclusively for the dancers of the Tanusree Shankar Dance Company, this piece shows impressions of Shankar technique and western contemporary Graham technique.

Paramita got the opportunity to perform as a special guest at the Kansas City Ballet, Bollander Centre on the occasion of the World Dance Day in 2013. This piece is a short theatrical interpretation of the different facets of women and the society that they live in. The contemporary issue of women empowerment is the central feeling of this dance.

This dance is a choreographed offering to Ma Durga which transports you to celestial space where you are about to experience the aura of serenity and divine bliss.

Based on a popular folk song, the following presentation takes us to rural Bengal where a young peasant couple works in and out in the paddy fields hoping for the rain clouds to assemble.

A medley of songs from Hindi Films featuring richness of music and dance traditions from the 60s to the present era.
